FEAR
"FEAR" just the word sounds a little creepy, don't you think?
Fear is a scary and common word but phobia is the irrational and sometimes it’s an illusion that fear of something in particular or fear of someone in a few cases!!! Some are scared of heights, some are scared of the dark, some are scared of closed spaces and some are even scared of clowns...In their defense clowns do look creepy to them!!!
There is no denying the fact
that every one of us has a fear. I myself am scared of frogs. I know it sounds
stupid but I can't help it. Similarly, every living thing is scared of
something because basically fear is an inbuilt instinct which supports the
thriving of life...
Some people have their
own reasons to be scared but I don't think fear needs a "reason". It
is something that we can't control but is definitely something that we can
face, overtime...
Fear is not necessarily a
bad thing. Sometimes "fear" is what makes us who are. Although fear is very common among us, it is also necessary that we learn to face our fears. Because
that's just how life works don't you agree?
As Les Brown quotes,
Too many of us are not living our dreams because we are living our fears.
We are scared to take risks in life because we fear we might lose what we already have. Once I read a small poem called the "Reality of fear." The gist of the poem was that, it’s not the act or thing that scares us, it is what we think it might do it us that scares us. For instance, most kids are scared of the dark. The reason behind this is that the kids believe that there is something in the dark that might hurt them. And yes! many of us were those kids but the older we got, we realized that they were just stories. When we realize it we are not scared anymore.
Sometimes, even realizing the truth doesn't help us. I myself am scared of heights. I don't remember having acrophobia when I was younger but I did seem to develop it over the years. I was in the seventh grade I think, I kind of had a knee injury. That was when it started. I have this thing called jumper's knee, it's a ligament problem.
Actually I was fine after that, I wasn't so scared but then I started getting this ligament problem repeatedly every year. Every time I jump, the ligament moved and I couldn't walk normally for a few months.
That was when I started
getting scared and ended up having "acrophobia".
I still am actually scared
of heights, I can't even get on Ferris wheels but every time I refuse to climb
or do stuff including heights I was always forced as I too have crazy friends
just like everyone. Whenever you refuse to do something, that's when they want
you to do it. So I do end up climbing trees and getting on Ferris wheels
sometimes. What I'm trying to say is that I never overcame my fear I still have
them but I was able to face them, on very rare occasions I agree but still, I
could. We may or may not be able to overcome the fear but we sure can face
it. After all that's what life is all about. Feeling it, facing it but not
necessarily overcoming it in the first place...
Whatever the trouble we may
encounter, whatever fears we may have, they can eventually be solved. We may
not be able to overcome it but we sure can face it. Life has obstacles, it has its
own highs and lows but that's what makes it so interesting. Face your fears,
overcome the obstacles, have adventures, make crazy friends but mostly
LIVE...!!!
Nice one ♥️
