Depression

Depression. The word that we easily use now a days. Whenever we hear this word, for some is sounds creepy and for some it is scary.

When people are running and worried about the health, wealth, family, relationship, studies etc…there are people who doesn’t care about any of them, but being depressed all the time. Why this happens?

 SO WHAT IS DEPRESSION ?

Depression is a state of mind where the people never cares about anything, but they are surrounded by thoughts which scars them or which they hate the most which sometimes leads to think and even attempt of dreadful decision like suicide.

Not everyone get into depression. A person who overthinks or a person with phobia are the one who is most commonly affected. And few get depressed due to some hurricane or disaster that happened in their lives.

I cry for everything. Whether the issue is big or small. Guess many do cry like me. And some call it as sensitivity and some call it as the source of outlet.

Yeah, I totally agreed to that point, Crying is an outlet. Shedding tears for everything may be silly. But at times when we cry, we feel like the heaviness of our heart goes with those tears and so we never get into the state of depression.

Okay. Let think about an alcoholics (a person who drinks alcohol every day). Since he drinks every day, due to absent mindedness, he forgets about his pain, difficulties and everything. So he won’t get into depression. Here alcohol is his outlet.

SADNESS AND DEPRESSION   :

To know the difference between sadness and depression, watch the video below from Depression counselor Douglas Bloch.

People confuse sadness with depression. They use the word depression in place of sadness thinking both are same. But both are actually different. There is no person without sadness. But depression is rear. Sadness is normal human emotion. But depression is a mental disorder that can drastically impact on daily living. Sadness is one of the symptom of depression, where depression have many other symptoms. In brief depression is the peak of sadness.

IMMUNITY AGAINST DEPRESSION:

There is no reason for depression. But with the help of an outlets, most people get themselves out of depression.

As I said in the beginning, not everyone get into depression.

Many have the natural immunity,

o  Some have immunity of crying.

o  Some have immunity of show their frustration in the form of anger.

o  Some have immunity of thinking and recovering by realizing their own state.

But a person who doesn’t know about those source; who doesn’t have those immunity; A person who have never went through such circumstance or situation or A person who thinks himself superior or inferior are the one get into depression easily.

But if a person have his own outlet, he will never get into depression so easily or even if he gets into it, they will easily overcome from that state due to those outlet activities.

HOW TO OVERCOME DEPRESSION:

Overcoming depression never happens in a day or overnight.

You can overcome depression before or at the starting stage by any outlet. But after the beginning stage it is quite tough for us to make them normal.

You can’t change them overnight. You can’t tell them: to do yoga, to be calm, to cry, or to involve in some activity

There should be someone to talk to them like a psychiatrist or a person whom they trust and love or a person who speak more to them.

Mostly psychotherapy and counseling are recommended to get rid of depression. And in certain cases medication helps them to control depression. When a person get into depression, it is their will power, circumstance and a good treatment which decides the time of recovery.

But as proverb says “prevention is better than cure”. We can try to prevent our-self and others from getting into depression. Speaking, listening, sharing, understanding, and acting accordingly with our people can make one feel free and comfortable. So that at times they feel free to talk about the things which makes them feel bad. And even this helps people getting themselves out of the state of depression easily. And, the first and last most important thing is that, everyone should have an outlet. And if you don’t have one yet, build it now.
